  1. I agree with others. Very useful, even though I too soon found myself listening for the correct one, thereby gaming the exam. But I don’t think this is a failing, because it does help one understand why the wrong ones don’t sound right, and also helps sharpen the ear. More of these, please! And thanks for all the work.

  2. I agree with Christina: after a fairly short time it became clear that the wrong ones just sounded “different.” But it was still quite helpful, because after the first two or three I tried to figure out what, specifically, was wrong, and about half-way through I began to come fairly close to the printed answers.

  3. Hello David,
13 out of 13 🙂 After the first few, I just listened for the correct one. Maybe too many of the same thing. If they were varied, would be more challenging.

Thanks so much for all you do for us!

  4. David, this was my first time doing a listening exercise like this. It was interesting and fun to do. Difficult to discern the differences but after about 3 plays I got them! Without the written text, however, I would have been unable to do it, I think.
    Thanks for all your effort!

  5. I wish I had this available years ago. It was quite easy for me now. 13/13. I wonder what an intermediate ear would think of this. Takes time and effort.

    1. Hi David

I found it really helpful to be able to hear the subtle variations against the benchmark. By the last one, I could almost sense my ear starting to “tune in”.
      Thank you
